Spread over four hectares, Allison’s Grove comprises a heritage house built in 1888, a grove of trees and a meadow, all nestled within an environmentally-protected landform in the Town of Caledon in Ontario, Canada. A developer who had purchased the property applied for a zoning change in order to build townhouses on the site.
Neighborhood residents formed a community group to fight the proposed change and needed a visual identity for communications to various stakeholders. The logo is a stylized graphic of the actual landscape, with the name carefully arranged to depict the heritage house. The colours and design also project a positive image to indicate hope and a bright green future.
